All Skyscanner services are localised by market, language and currency, so these three parameters must be added to every request.
Simply append the market, currency and locale to every query, as shown in the following example:
Market (or country)
The end user’s country is used to determine the applicable market.
Many providers (airlines, travel agents and car hire dealers) set their fares on a per-market basis. This means that in some cases a particular route will only be available for purchase within certain markets. It is therefore necessary to specify the market country in every query.
Please see the Markets Service for more information on how to obtain the list of the markets.
All major currencies are supported to cater for every market.
Please see the Currencies Service for full details on currencies that Skyscanner supports.
Language (or Locale)
Our services support all major languages, as well as some minor ones. In the case of Portuguese (pt-PT and pt-BR) and Chinese (zh-CN and zh-TW) two versions are available.
Locales not in the list are supported as long as the language code matches a locale in the list. For example, ‘en-US’ is supported as it will default to ‘en-GB’, but ‘ar-EG’ is not supported because Arabic is not supported at all.
Please see the Locales Service for how to obtain the full list of Locales supported.
